In this series of 24 recordings (each between 15 and 20 minutes long), three local religious leaders – who already work together to aid mutual understanding and support – discuss the similarities and differences between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Two round-table discussions are followed by 18 individual conversations in which each in turn seeks to explain six key aspects of their belief. The series will conclude with further round-table discussions in which some of the comments, claims and beliefs are questioned. This is not an attempt to convert or persuade anyone for or against any of these (or other) beliefs, but simply a response to life in an increasingly mixed community, where religion can often be a cause of suspicion and mistrust yet can also be a way to bring different parts of our larger community together. One way to begin is to try to know and understand.
